Forever Days

Today is another Song Styles Saturday. This is a new song in both lyrics and music. I wrote the lyrics yesterday and just finished the music this morning. The song is in Memory of My Brother-in-Law, Victor Campbell who passed away last Sunday. I knew Victor for almost 20 years. I knew him to be a good Christian man. Was he perfect, no but who of us are perfect. And, thankfully for all of us, God doesn’t expect us to be perfect and that is good news for all of us. What God does expect is for us to have a relationship with Jesus. I know Victor had that. My heart is broken. Please remember my sister in your prayers. But we are at peace, secure in the knowledge that Victor is in the hands of God.

Your life was hard, you found your way
In God you found, your hope and stay
You followed Him, but peace you lacked
I wish we had, those moments back.

You run to Him; He’s calling you
He will forgive, His grace is true
Eternal peace, eternal praise
He does love you, forever days.

You are God’s child, Go seek His face,
You are redeemed, live in God’s grace
You’re not alone, friends old and new,
Held in His arms, saints welcome you.

You run to Him; He’s calling you
He will forgive, His grace is true
Eternal peace, eternal praise
He does love you, forever days.

With broken hearts, we gather now
Loving neighbors, this is our vow
Give us your comfort, to you we race
Peace in our hearts, give us your grace.

You run to Him; He’s calling you
He will forgive, His grace is true
Eternal peace, eternal praise
He does love you, forever days.

Be blessed.

Seeking the Genuine,
Keith

    Keith,
Very beautifully said. I never met Vic and realize it is my loss. We are praying for Brenda and all the family. The lyrics to the song are very uplifting. Would love to hear it. Take care. Forever in our prayers. Sherrill

    1. Hi Sherrill, thank you for the kind words. I was going to ask which one. But I saw. I wrote a second one that posted yesterday but there is no music for it yet. I did it Thursday but had to finish the funeral stuff and get things done for church this morning. The first time Forever Days was performed was yesterday at t he funeral. I was trying to read the lyrics and chords off my tablet and the glare was brutal. It definitely impacted the performance. Not to mention I am a better writer than guitat player or singer. There was a woman there who videod the service. I didn’t know her bet asked her to send it when she gets it uploaded. Whether she actually will or not who is to say. Like most of my songs there are few that have heard them. My last church didn’t want me to play guitar in worship. I was playing at some assisted living centers but Covid has shut that down. If i get that video I will let you know.
